A cement plant was experiencing issues with its fan bearings due to overheating. As a result, external cooling was needed to prevent production shutdown, and lubricant top-up was required every two days. After switching to Mobil SHC™ 629 synthetic oil circulating oil, the bearings experienced a 10°C reduction in operating temperatures, which has helped enhance component protection, reducing bearing failure and extending bearing life. In addition, Mobil SHC™ 629 oil has helped the company reduce lubricant consumption, decrease maintenance and labor costs, and extend oil drain intervals from two to three days – resulting in a customer-estimated annual savings of more than US $10,400.
