An Alabama coal mine operating tail roller sprockets lubricated with a lithium-complex ISO 220 grease experienced two failures over a three-month period, each resulting in an estimated five hours of lost production. In an effort to reduce component failures, the company approached ExxonMobil for a lubricant solution to address the failures, reduce related downtime and improve operational efficiency.

After evaluating the application and operating environment, ExxonMobil’s lubricant expert recommended Mobil Centaur XHP™ 461, an ISO 460 bearing grease.
